MAGIC CIRCLE
We are a Saint John, New Brunswick, Canadian Club for individuals interested in magic and the allied arts.
Some of our members who attended the fascinating lecture of David Merry-April 30, 2005.
Quick Facts
The Magic Circus Club was established on April 5, 2001, by Saint John magician Bernard Cormier.
The object of the club is for the mutual improvement of the members in the variety arts, particularly magic and the allied arts. Membership is open to all persons interested in the aims of the club.
Minimum age for membership is 14.
Officers of the Club include a President, a Vice President and a Secretary/Treasurer.
A quorum at any regular meeting is six.
The annual general meeting of the Club is held in September.
Annual dues are $10-payable in January.
Members contribute $2 per meeting towards club activities and meeting space rental.
Code of Ethics
As a member of the Magic Circus I agree to do my best to elevate the art of magic and the allied arts, to abide by the Constitution, By-laws, and Code of Ethics of the club. I shall endeavor to cooperate with the club in the promotion of its objectives and to promote harmony among those interested in magic and the variety arts and to advance the ethics of the profession. I agree not to expose any secrets or modus operandi from stage, platform, television, radio, or in any manner whatsoever. I am opposed to needless exposure of magical secrets to anyone not entitled to know them or who are not interested in magic. I am opposed to placing any legitimate performer in a predicament while that person is before an audience. I vow to always abide by these codes for the betterment of magic and allied art forms.
